25 04:43
If you wanna kill for fun, let me be the first martyr If you wanna hurt someone, take a stab at where my heart is If you wanna win the crown, you're gonna have to get smarter If you wanna take me out You're gonna have to try (x3) You're gonna have to try harder Shock me from the sugar, take me for a better woman I am not! Trace me from my ankles, overhead and underlined 25, It took me 25 years to wanna stay alive Quiet now It's not hard to bleed my mind Of all the trust If you wanna pour some more, that would be the nicest armour If you wanna weather the storm Then I will be the one to guide you, take my rage push it inside you I would watch what you say next, I've cut people out for less Quiet now, It's not hard to bleed my mind (x3) Of all the trust

My Blood 02:32
My blood is clean, My mind is not But I never get caught do I? My heart of gold, beats alone in this life And the next and the next one (Ch) My blood, goes so much deeper than you Could ever know now that you’ve become A hardened case, of such distaste A lonely trigger on a loaded gun What’s the point in being pure when Being dirty’s more fun? Drink your water, drink your wine or You could scratch and bite and drink... (Chorus) If you wanna waste your time or Waste away, the pleasure’s mine credits
3.
Dead Girl 02:44
I love your sentiment for no one but yourself I love your ignorance so pretty wrapped in white I share a word or two on my opinions of the world You flip your hair and ask me if I have the stats on that (Chorus) You don't think that we exist! You think opinions like yours, aren't really hatred Take one spin around the sun! You bittersweet pretender, you'd silence anyone! The most beautiful girl is a dead girl motionless in black 21 years to freedom lying on her back I love your sentiment for no one but yourself You'd fucking hate us but no more than you fucking hate yourself (Chorus) You don't think that we exist! You think opinions like yours, aren't really hatred Take one spin around the sun! You bittersweet pretender, you'd silence anyone! (instrumental) (Chorus) You don't think that we exist! You think opinions like yours, aren't really hatred Take one spin around the sun! You bittersweet pretender, you'd silence anyone!

The C-Word 02:46
Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to be friends? Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to hold hands? Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to Kiss me? Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to fuck each other?? I don’t care if you’re a man I don’t care if you’re a woman I don’t care if you are neither Consent is cool! I don’t care what your mama taught you Don’t care what your daddy taught you Don’t care what your douchebag friends said Consent is cool! I don’t care if you’re my ex Don’t care if you want sex Don’t care if I was drunk Consent is cool! I don’t care if you are Carrie I don’t care if you’re Samantha Don’t care if you’re Mr. Big! Consent is cool! Why can’t you just get it yet? (X2) Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to be friends? Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to hold hands? Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to Kiss me? Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to fuck each other?? Why can’t you just get it yet? (X2) Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to be friends? Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to hold hands? Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you want to Kiss me? Do ya? (Do ya?) Do ya (Do ya?) Do you know consent is cool!?

Closer 03:45
I think I’m closer to God More than I’ve ever been But even when he’s at my door I’d never, let him in I think I’m closer to you More than I’ve ever been But even when you’re at my door I won’t, confess my sins I, I, I I, I, I I, I.... I think I’m closer to you! I think I’m closer to you (x 2) I hear you knocking, at my door I’ve been tied up for days, restraints on my heart And I want real love, but it’s unrequited Every time I open up I just find my legs, parted. I think I’m closer to you! I think I’m closer to you (x2) I, I, I I, I, I I, I.... I think I’m closer to you. I think I’m closer than I’ve ever been, I think I’m closer than I’ve ever been Ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and... (x 2) I think I’m closer to you! I think I’m closer to you (x 2)

Sharks 03:51
You can bend until you break, you won’t get away He won’t turn a blind eye to girls like you, babe There’s a shark in the water, he smells your daughters And he’ll get, he’ll get, what he wants If you try to get away he won’t hesitate To bite your limbs off and leave you sinking I’ll call the coast guard on you, I swear to god I’ll fucking do it We can do it If we all work together There’s a shark in the water, he smells your daughters And he’ll get, he’ll get, what he wants We can see you coming from a million miles (there you are!) You leave a filthy trail behind your eyeline I never thought that it would go this far Not in this day and age but look where we are There’s a shark in the water, he got caught and now he's fucking scared And he’ll get, he’ll get, what he deserves! And we’ve got sharks in danger, sharks in danger, sharks in danger (x2) You can bend until you break, you won’t get away He won’t turn a blind eye to girls like you babe.

Witch Hunt 03:31
What do you stand for, what do you believe? Who do you pray to on your knees? Will I drown in your rivers deep? Or will I burn like your barren trees? Am I controversial? Am I over educated? Starved and exasperated, until I'm not opinionated. (Pre) Am I seeing things? Can I Hide? Witch! Hunt! I think, Not! (Instrumental Chorus) Who do you prey on and who do you please? Why do you live so carelessly? What's your weakness, your disease? You'll feel this anguish for centuries (Pre) Am I seeing things? Can I Hide? Witch! Hunt! I think, Not! (Instrumental Chorus) What do you stand for, what do you believe?

Her 03:10
I'd entertain her, masturbate to her I'd spill my guts to her, take her picture I'd change my name for her, crash my car for her Drink alone with her I'd shut up for her to be heard (CH 1) She could bend me, she could give it up She'd never let me But she could never read my mind Her eyes are open, mouth too big to shut Door is closing, sheets lay untucked Breath is changing, words are tough to judge She keeps me waiting, she keeps me waiting (CH2) And she could bend me, she could give it up She'd never let me But she could never read my mind If she could trust me, If I could make this mine Then I could love her, It might've been fine Might've been, might've been fine Might've been, might've been fine

about

"Permanence." Is the debut studio album of Vancouver BC's queer garage rockers, Strange Breed.
Touching on social and political issues such as gender discrimination, mental illness, coming out/LGBTQ+ visibility, sexual assault and #MeToo to name a few, "Permanence." is reminiscent of the feminist anthems of early 90's femme rock all while keeping a firm grip on the modern rock sound of today.

We are here. We are who we are. Change is happening, and it's here to stay.

This album was generously funded in part by FACTOR Canada and Creative BC.
